Tourist Arrivals in First 8 Months – up 2%

The number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays in the first 8 months of 2006 was as planned, 2 % up from the same period last year, despite a one 1 % in August.

The State Bureau of Statistics has reported that there were 2,605,066 arrivals and 16,929,176 overnight stays in commercial accommodation facilities in August, a 1 % drop in relation to August last year.

Statistics also show that 8,314,315 tourists visited Croatia in the first eight months, accounting for 44,651,885 overnight stays, a 2 % increase in relation to the same period last year.
